What’s your passion?

I never thought I would be where I am. Being involved with a Pregnancy Resource Center was not the plan I had for my life. My plan was a degree in Dance, a contract with a dance company, and when I got too old to perform on the stage I would teach dance and pass the torch to the next generation. I spent every minute I could in a dance studio taking classes or as a teacher’s assistant. I was very passionate about dance.

Client Wedding

Over the summer I was privileged to attend the wedding for one of our Turning Point clients. Joan* came to us over 4 years ago when she found herself with an unplanned pregnancy. She wanted to parent but needed the support and resources to do it. Joan’s family didn’t live nearby, and relationships fell apart when she told them about the pregnancy. Her boyfriend at the time was somewhat involved but not very happy about the pregnancy either. They were living together and...

A limited obstetrical ultrasound is for determining if the pregnancy is intrauterine; if there’s fetal cardiac activity(viability); and for determining estimated gestational age(how far along the pregnancy is). Counseling and teaching...

From my window…

I work at the front desk at Turning Point, so I get to see a different side of what we do. I get to see the clients as they first walk in and begin the process of getting them the help they need. Sometimes our clients come in, bringing a man with them to the appointment. After the paperwork is filled out she is brought back to the counseling room for a pregnancy test and initial questions. We are in the process of getting male Advocates trained so the men can have a...
