As we are quickly approaching summer not only am I grateful for the warm, sunny days but I am so grateful for those of you who support our work at Turning Point. Some of you have been doing so year after year. Many of you are brand new supporters. We love and appreciate and are grateful for all of you. Last week the Knights of Columbus and the Bar J chuck wagon had a wonderful fund raiser for Turning Point and now we are in the midst of planning our Gala which takes place July 17th at Spring Creek. Philippians 4:8 says: “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” It’s not easy to take the high road when it comes to being a supporter of life. However, it is the pure and right and lovely way – a more excellent way! And each of you are people of excellence! Thank you.
I love the work that goes on here. I love to see the little Hispanic children running around on Thursday afternoons while their moms take a parenting class. My heart goes out to the pregnant moms who come in scared and frightened as they are faced with big decisions about a pregnancy. It is a wonderful thing to see the sigh of relief when they know they will have help and when they know they aren’t alone. I love to see the little babies on the ultrasound machine and my heart warms when a mom decides to carry her baby. I love the time we take to pray for our clients and patients, our staff, volunteers, board members and donors. I believe it is the most important thing we can do for anyone. We are merely servants for a mighty God that we cannot put in a box – even though we try at times. I am grateful that we have a warm, welcoming place where young people can come for help and education. I am also grateful for the dads who are not walking away when their girlfriends are pregnant. Some are attending parenting classes. They are engaged. Today I am feeling especially grateful just for the privilege of working here. I believe that all of us together can make a difference for life and in the lives of others. Thank you for partnering with us and being a part of this wonderful program. The thing I am seeing here at Turning Point is “hope”. I am seeing many who are interested in what we do – such as an educator who brought 3 young girls in so that we could talk to them about the services we provide, community members who recognize that we are a place where young people can receive help without judgment, and where clients and patients will see hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Please put our Gala on your calendar! Also, please RSVP by July 8th. We are looking forward to hearing from our guest speakers and enjoying good food and fellowship.
